United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Management Associate – Laboratory for our Minnesota Ore Operations organization.
The Management Associate will report directly to the Coordinator of Lab and Ore Movement and is an entry level position.
The role will assist in the management of the quality assurance laboratories at our taconite processing facilities at Minntac (Mountain Iron) and Keetac (Keewatin) while applying problem solving techniques to maintain accurate results, promoting improvements, and assuring a safe, stable, on-target operation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing the safety and performance of the Laboratory employees
Assuring the accuracy of physical, chemical, and metallurgical test results
Troubleshooting laboratory processes
Performing analytical investigations
Interpreting data and writing technical reports
Ordering parts and equipment
Support ISO 9001 protocols, specification development
Consulting with staff, operations, and maintenance professionals
Training/teaching staff
Procedure development
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related area of study
Must have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university at the time of hire
This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing
