Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Accounting Speciaist to join our growing team! This position will be based near one of our office locations in Duluth, MN; Minneaplis, MN; Houston, TX; Nashville, TN; Omaha, NE; Pittsburgh, PA or a remote location.
This position will to provide central accounting support, working with a dynamic team to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved.
This position supports LSC’s general accounting functions including Accounts Payable (A/P), Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and business taxation.
The ideal candidate would be a self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a keen attention to detail, proven critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Responsibilites:
Responsible for all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and accounts payable files
Ensure timely and accurate entry of all invoices into A/P system, per Delegation of Authority matrix
Research, resolve and correspond with suppliers for invoice discrepancies or inquiries
Process weekly accounts payable payment batch and Pay-when-paid subcontractor reporting
Maintain all use tax registers, and process multi-jurisdiction use tax returns and payments
Audit and process 200+ weekly employee expense reports, and propose biweekly batch of reconciled expenses for payroll processing and reimbursement
Process daily JNRs and apply invoice templates and project roles based on discrete service line configurations
Daily bank statement distribution, application of client receipts, and serve as backup for EFT and Wire submissions
Accountable for Month End duties including but not limited to A/P Accruals and Assigned General Ledger Reconciliations
Complete periodic state registrations for both business and payroll taxes, as well as process business income tax payments and work with various agencies to respond to notices
Identify and promote changes in procedures and reporting that increase efficiency and reduce data keying and manual intervention
Miscellaneous reporting and analysis as requested to support project management and senior leadership team
Maintain good rapport with employees, clients, and suppliers
Requirements:
Associates Degree preferred
1 year of corporate A/P processing experience preferred
Experience with sales/use tax a plus
Ability to communicate with various levels of staff and management, and suppliers
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
High organizational and prioritizing skills
Strong attention to detail, and application of policy and procedure
