Memorial Blood Centers (MBC.
ORG), a division of Innovative Blood Resources (www.
innovativebloodresources.
org), has been saving and sustaining lives since 1948.
We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients.
Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood—from our community, for our community.
Responsibilities:
Summary:
This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs.
Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards.
Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders.
Schedule: Typical schedule will be Thurs, Fri, Sat afternoon/ evenings with flexiblity to work other days as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
1.
Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks)
Hospital Orders:
Consigning
Shipping
Packing
Reconciliation
Irradiation/modification
2.
Performing timely driving functions
Delivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders.
Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites.
Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab.
3.
Customer Service
Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers.
Daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services allows for correct orders and component shipments
4.
Equipment Maintenance
Maintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services.
5.
Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.
6.
Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood component.

High school education or equivalent
Physical:
Ability to lift 50lbs and continuous movement in and out of vehicle
Other:
Ability to work well with others and independently
2 years of driving and/or customer service experience
Good driving record
Good communication skills; both oral and written
Ability to learn required computer functions and programs
Displays a professional manner
Ability to work well under pressure
